Source Code (Draw Chart Click Event) The Standard Deviation Chart is useful when a process has a fairly large subgroup size (say 8 or more). In that case this chart is probably a better tool for monitoring process variation than a Range Chart. Each point on the chart represents the standard deviation of the subgroup.
